Ethical Kitchen Garden.
We Do Ethical has launched the Ethical Kitchen Garden educational programme; a national initiative designed to empower communities across the UK to create organic and sustainable kitchen gardens in underutilised green spaces such as churchyards, public gardens, and community plots.
The programme will create longevity circles through accessible intergenerational learning, bringing young people and older generations together to share skills and knowledge, improving yields and food quality for increased health benefits, while strengthening community bonds. By providing a structured framework, this initiative will enable community groups, churches, and local organisations nationwide to adopt and implement their own Community Kitchen Gardens, helping to rejuvenate urban and rural green spaces into thriving food hubs.
Be part of the pilot for a new national initiative cultivating longevity circles through intergenerational, inclusive food growing. You can send us items through our Amazon Wishlist link below or complete the volunteers form if you'd prefer to get your hands dirty!
Volunteers Form
The pilot project will launch at St Ambrose Church in Westbourne, Dorset, serving as a model that can be replicated and adapted across the UK.

Planting, Raised Planter Beds & Hedge Rows
In the UK, a commonly recommended size for a raised vegetable bed is about 1.2 meters wide by 2.4 meters long, with a depth of 300 to 450 millimetres. This configuration allows you to comfortably reach the centre of the bed from both sides without stepping on it, while providing ample growing space and good drainage for most vegetables. All dead wood on the land is repurposed into natural hedgerows, creating vital wildlife corridors that provide shelter and food for birds, insects, and small mammals. Also acting as windbreaks, helping to reduce soil erosion and enhance the landscape’s resilience.
Mushroom Trail
Our garden’s woodland area features a dedicated Mushroom Trail where we grow a variety of UK-adapted fungi, including turkey tail, oyster, shiitake, lion’s mane, and mistaké mushrooms. Lion’s mane requires more stable conditions, so it is grown in a polytunnel to maintain the high humidity and cleanliness it needs.
Shepherds Hut
We plan to rejuvenate the old shed on the property into a charming shepherd’s hut, serving as a secure storage space for our tools and supplies while offering a welcoming shelter for volunteers. This revitalised structure will not only preserve the character of the site but also provide a comfortable retreat during breaks encompassing a Bee Hive under the deck, fostering a sense of calm for the community and supporting our team as they work towards cultivating a sustainable environment.

Our Promise
At the heart of our garden lies a simple yet profound truth: what we nurture, nurtures us in return.
We promise to cultivate more than just food,we cultivate community, sustainability, and ethical living. Every seed we plant is a commitment to the earth, every meal we share is a celebration of togetherness, and every supporter who joins us is a partner in a vision of fairness, nourishment, and renewal.
Through intergenerational learning, we bridge the gap between young and old; passing down wisdom, traditions, and skills while fostering connection and belonging. Young people gain hands-on experience in ethical food production, while elders find renewed purpose, companionship, and joy in sharing their knowledge. In doing so, we help combat loneliness, build resilience, and create a space where everyone has something valuable to give and receive.
We focus on what is truly necessary, growing food in harmony with nature. That means no pesticides, no insecticides; just natural, responsible growing practices that protect biodiversity, nourish the soil, and respect the delicate balance of life. Our produce is not only fresh and nutritious but also a testament to the power of ethical choices and sustainable stewardship.
By supporting the Ethical Kitchen Garden, you are investing in a future where food is grown with care, where nature and people thrive in harmony, and where generosity is returned in abundance.
Together, we grow. 🌱💚

Toiletries Community Outreach
In December 2020, we partnered with Hope for Food charity's outreach project. Together we now provide a reliable and authentic source of personal care products to serve members of our local community who are most in need.
It takes place every other Sunday between 6pm - 8pm at St. Stephen's Church, Bournemouth town centre. Those in need, who are often homeless, are served a hot drink and wholesome meal, inside the church. Outside, Hope for Food's charity van provides essentials such as; clean clothing, sleeping bags, tents and warm blankets, donated by local people and business owners including ourselves.
We believe that personal hygiene is a basic human right. Before we stepped in to partner with the charity, the vulnerable people within our community were denied this through no fault of their own. Now 1,200 people are served monthly. Find us next to the charity's van outside the church where we will be providing these essential products.
Every booking directly funds our essential initiative.
Ceremonial Cacao, Mud Bath, Sauna & Sea Dip

Then, enjoy a natural mud bath, rich in minerals that draw out toxins, improve circulation, and leave your skin glowing. Relax in the warmth of the sauna, which helps to relieve muscle tension, boost the immune system, and support detoxification. Finally, experience the invigorating benefits of a cold sea dip, which can reduce inflammation, improve circulation, and increase energy levels. Reconnect with nature and restore your inner harmony.

SWIFS
SWIFS (Supporting Women Into the Fire Service) is an initiative founded by Mary-Anna Jennings in 2024. Promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion in UK fire and rescue services. It provides aspiring firefighters, particularly women and underrepresented groups, with fitness training, essential knowledge, and practical experience to improve employability and confidence. Despite progress, these groups remain underrepresented, and SWIFS aims to bridge this gap by offering structured support. Following a successful pilot in Humberside, the programme plans to expand nationwide with backing from fire chiefs, government bodies, and industry leaders, working towards a more inclusive fire service that reflects the communities it serves.

Transform Our World
We believe education is the most powerful catalyst for meaningful change. As part of a vibrant community of over 7,000 educators, we work to empower students to take environmental and social action. Through our collaboration with Transform Our World and our Eco-Schools partnership, we deliver free, high-quality sustainability resources and lead live, hands-on projects across the UK. These experiences help young people drive sustainable development in their schools and local communities. If you're interested in partnering with us on a new or existing initiative, get in touch to book a project today.
Sea Pledge Programme
We are dedicated to advancing environmental conservation and community engagement through education and awareness. We Do Ethical's 'Sea Pledge Programme' is a seagrass restoration project at Studland Bay. Currently in the R&D stage, where we are working with scientific organisations to develop effective methods for restoring vital marine ecosystems, sequestering carbon, and protecting biodiversity. By partnering with other charitable organisations, we help them achieve their sustainability goals and create a collective impact. Studies show that seagrass beds in the UK can sequester between 1 to 10 tonnes of CO2 per hectare per year, although not as high as in tropical regions, it still makes them a key player in mitigating climate change. Through these collaborative efforts, we are taking tangible steps towards meeting our goals for a more sustainable future.
Ethical TV & Media
Recognising the transformative power of storytelling and its role in shaping lives beyond professional achievements. Our initiative highlights the personal journeys of individuals across various industries, providing insight into their challenges, triumphs, and core values. Through exclusive content, community events, and outreach programmes, we create opportunities for meaningful engagement, inspiring others to pursue their ambitions and overcome adversity. Working with a multitude of major brands, digital platforms, global streamers, and international broadcasters. Whether it’s documentaries, sport, news, podcasts, or live events, we collaborate with industry leaders to amplify impactful stories that drive social cohesion and promote positive change.
Kick Out Carbon
We believe that sport has the power to drive meaningful environmental change. That’s why we have partnered with the sports industry to facilitate the ‘Kick Out Carbon’ Initiative, collaborating with agents, clubs, and organisations to embed sustainability into the heart of sport. Through this initiative, stakeholders pledge to plant trees for every player transfer, player goal/win, or match day ticket sold, helping to offset carbon emissions while inspiring a greener future. By integrating sustainability into sport operations, we are leveraging the global influence of sport to create measurable climate action and drive positive change across the industry sector.
